Namibians Are Enthusiastic About Watching Indonesian Dance and Gamelan

More than 120 Namibians enthusiastically welcomed a gamelan performance and a number of dances at a diplomatic reception commemorating the 78th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia in Windhoek, Namibia, on Wednesday (6/9).

“They enjoyed enjoying dances such as Incling Janget, Yapong, Oleg Tamulilingan and Ratoh Jaroe,” said the Indonesian Embassy in Windhoek in a written statement in Jakarta, Friday.

The event opened with a gamelan performance by Windhoek Waldorf school students and members of the Indonesian Embassy in Windhoek’s Dharma WanitaSatu (DWP).

The Incling Jangget dance and Yapong dance were performed by two dancers from the OYO Dance Group, Namibia, who also enlivened this artistic performance.

Namibians and invited guests were also entertained by the dance of Oleg Tamulilingan from Bali. This attraction amazes them.

The event, which was attended by the Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of the Republic of Namibia, Jennely Matundu, then closed with the Ratoh Jaroe dance from Aceh.
