In the Fall and Winter, The Russians Will Launch a Record Number of Shahed Across Ukraine


Air Force spokesman Yuri Ignat said that in the fall and winter, the Russian occupiers will launch a record number of Shahed-136 kamikaze drones across Ukraine. He announced this on air at the national telethon.

According to him, the cold period will be a record-breaking level of use of suicide bombs.He noted that in September the enemy launched more than 500 drones across Ukraine. 

“Over the six months of the last heating season, more than 1,000 suicide bombers were used against Ukraine. And we already have half a thousand in just one month,” Ignat said.

The speaker of the Armed Forces also emphasized that the priority targets for air defense will be energy infrastructure and critical government points.

  • Recently, the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense,  Kirill Budanov  , said that Ukraine  is developing  a “deterrence and retaliation” program to counter the expected Russian campaign to shell energy infrastructure facilities in the fall and winter.
  • The Energy Ministry expects  Russia to resume attacks on energy infrastructure  as cold weather sets in.
  • President  Volodymyr Zelensky  has said that Russia will try to launch more attacks on Ukrainian energy this winter and will attempt to bypass air defenses.
