Another Namibian Linked to Phala Phala Theft in Custody

Another Namibian, Ndilinasho Joseph, appeared in the Bela-Bela Magistrate’s Court on Friday in connection with the Phala Phala theft case, following his arrest by the South African Police on Thursday.

Ndilinasho is related to the alleged Phala Phala ‘mastermind’, Imanuwela David, and Froliana Joseph.

He handed himself over to the police at Bela-Bela Police Station on Thursday.

David and Froliana Joseph also appeared in court on Friday to apply for bail, following their appearance on Tuesday on charges of housebreaking and theft, and an additional charge of money laundering for David.

“Their case was postponed to 17 November for judgement of the bail application. Ndilinasho will return on the same date with his legal representation,” a statement by the South African Police read.

David and Froliana Joseph were arrested on Sunday and Monday in connection with the theft of US$580 000 from South African president Cyril Ramaphosa’s Phala Phala farm in February 2020.
