Edwin Molaletsi excelled as a land transport officer and served the municipality with dedication from 1 February 2021 until his passing.
A land transport officer at the J.B. Marks Municipality, Edwin Molaletsi, has passed away due to injuries sustained in a car accident in Namibia on 22 November.
At the time of the accident, Molaletsi was representing the J.B. Marks Municipality as a delegate during the 13th Trans Kalahari Corridor Secretariat Joint Law Operation in Swakopmund.
Molaletsi died at Welwitschia Private Hospital in Walvis Bay on Sunday, 3 December.
The Directorate Community Safety of J.B. Marks Municipality issued an official statement on his passing on Tuesday, 5 December.
“The sudden passing of Mr Edwin Molaletsi was a shock for the Directorate Community Safety,” wrote the director of community safety, Mr Ofentse Masibi, in the statement.
Molaletsi excelled as a land transport officer and served the municipality with dedication from 1 February 2021 until his passing.
“The community of J.B. Marks Local Municipality, the Directorate Community Safety fraternity and the entire transport industry will remember Mr Molaletsi as a responsive land transport officer,” added Masibi.
Mr Molaletsi will be laid to rest in Mahikeng, with a date and time still to be decided, after his remains are repatriated from Namibia.
“The directorate wishes the family, colleagues and friends well during this difficult time. May his precious soul rest in perfect peace.”
