The United States promised to transfer 31 Abrams tanks to Ukraine. First, Washington announced the transfer of the M1A2 version, but later, after a long delivery time, they would provide the M1A1 version that they wanted.

In March, Pentagon officials reported that they wanted to complete the transfer of tanks by the fall of 2023 . Soon, Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov announced that American Abrams tanks would not participate in this UAF counteroffensive.

In July, it became known that, according to sources in the Pentagon, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who are being trained in the operation of American Abrams tanks at a base in Germany, could be ready for battle in a few weeks .
