Bourbon Logistics has secured a fully integrated logistics contract with a major oil and gas operator in Namibia to support an exploration campaign and drilling of the first well in southern Namibian waters. This six-month campaign is a significant step for the client and marks their first integrated logistics contract, continuing Bourbon’s success in Namibia with previous contracts.
The contract includes freight forwarding, logistics base services, and marine services. Bourbon will manage equipment shipments from Houston, Singapore, and Antwerp to Walvis Bay, with logistics services like equipment handling, storage, and waste management. Three Platform Supply Vessels will also be dedicated to the project.
The entire operation will be planned and controlled using Bourbon’s proprietary software, Bourbon Logistics Suite. The 7-hectare logistics base in Walvis Bay will employ nearly 50 staff, 96% of whom are Namibians, benefiting from specialized training.
Nicolas Chateau, Managing Director of Bourbon Logistics, emphasized the company’s commitment to delivering efficient supply chain management with a focus on safety and quality. The contract further solidifies Bourbon’s expertise in supporting ambitious oil and gas projects.
